A FedEx courier went above and beyond to deliver an unusual 27kg delivery to the Menzies family’s front door in Castle Pines, Colorado, recently.
While away of town, the Menzies were working on their house. When his contractor went out for lunch, the wind blew the door open. Catcher, the family’s 3-year-old Golden Retriever, couldn’t say no to the rare chance to explore the world on her own. The dog bolted from the home and scurried dangerously close to the main road. Fortunately, Catcher was discovered by a vigilant FedEx deliveryman before an accident occurred.
The delivery guy must have observed the dog roaming the area and delivered it to the address on its license plate, according to Lisa Menzies, owner of Catcher.
Fortunately for us, the moment of heroics was captured on the family doorbell camera. The driver is shown getting out of his vehicle with the fluffy item and safely delivering it to the Menzie house before closing the door behind him.
“He interrupted her day and her package delivery schedule to pick her up, take her to our home, and close the door behind him,” Lisa says of the delivery boy’s gallantry. “I don’t want to think about how it could have ended any other way,” he told Fox News.
Lisa later expressed her gratitude on Twitter, referring to the delivery man as the “domestic hero.” Despite her best efforts, she has yet to learn the name of the vehicle driver.
