Giorgio Armani, quoted by Corriere, said it was “with great sadness that he learned of the death of Nino Cerruti”. “Nino had a piercing gaze, a genuine curiosity, the ability to dare,” he added. His friend, photographer Paolo Roversi, who recently produced Kate Middleton’s three new official 40th birthday portraits, said of him: “Nino is the cheetah. He is like Prince Salina from the Lampedusa novel and the Visconti film, this aristocrat who sees his universe disappear before him. But it’s still there, in front of us, more beautiful than ever,” recalled Vogue France.
