Three University of Wyoming students, Carson Muir, Charlie Clark, and Luke Slabber, lost their lives in a car crash on February 22nd.

Additionally, two other students sustained injuries that were not life-threatening.The University of Wyoming community is grieving the loss of three students from the college’s swimming and diving team who were killed in a car accident in northern Colorado on February 22.

The victims were identified as Carson Muir, a freshman on the women’s team from Birmingham, Alabama, Charlie Clark, a sophomore on the men’s team from Las Vegas, and Luke Slabber, a junior on the men’s team from Cape Town, South Africa. Two other teammates were injured but are expected to recover. The accident occurred on highway 287 in Larimer County, and authorities are still investigating the cause of the crash.

University of Wyoming Athletics Director Tom Burman expressed his condolences and sympathy for the swimming and diving student-athletes, coaches, families, and friends in a statement on February 23. He acknowledged the sadness of losing members of the university family and emphasized the availability of counseling services for those in need.
