Defining beauty.. 

When we see something beautiful its beauty is subjectively felt. Yet, the concept of beauty and ugliness is elusive and difficult to put into words and define. Perhaps this is because of individual differences in our appreciation of it. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. What one person finds beautiful, another merely sentimental. One, attractive, another repulsive.

Beauty has been said to be something to do with appreciating harmony, balance, rhythm. It captures our attention, satisfying and raising the mind.

I would say beauty is something, that at its heart, has the reality of innocence – the innocence of absolute Love Itself.

    Beauty standards are often defined in terms of hairstyles, skin color, and body size. The measures involved in having to live up to these standards are often risky in nature. For decades, what is seen as beautiful is centered around a women’s weight and size. Today, that standard is often defined as being thin.

Why is beauty standard important?

Beauty ideals are heavily implemented within our society, especially within the media telling us how we’re all supposed to look. Due to beauty ideals many women often end up being dissatisfied with what they see in the mirror. As an effort to meet these beauty ideals, women change their appearance in various ways.
